Gypsy Rose Blanchard, convicted for her role in her mother's murder, is set to be released from prison early in December

She pleaded guilty to murder in 2016 and received a 10-year prison sentence.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard will have served 85% of her 10-year sentence upon her release on December 28, 2023

Her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, was found dead in June 2015, leading to charges against Gypsy and her boyfriend, Nick Godejohn, for first-degree murder

It was later revealed that Dee Dee had fabricated Gypsy's medical issues as a victim of Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome

Dee Dee had convinced everyone that Gypsy was terminally ill, suffering from multiple ailments, and had the mind of a 7-year-old

Gypsy Rose explained the abuse she endured from her mother, expressing fear and a lack of trust in her childhood

She told Dr. Phil McGraw that while she believed murder was wrong, she understood why it happened and desired help during her sentencing

Godejohn, Gypsy's boyfriend, received a life sentence without parole for his role in the murder

Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Nick Godejohn have since separated, and Gypsy became engaged to a pen pal she met while in jail
