Nicki Minaj Sued by Former Manager for Alleged Assault

A former manager of Nicki Minaj is suing the rapper for assault, battery, and emotional distress, claiming she struck him backstage after a Detroit concert.
Brandon Garrett, Minaj’s former “day-to-day manager,” alleges the incident occurred following an April concert on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. According to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles, Garrett claims Minaj became enraged after he sent another employee to pick up her prescription while he was assisting her with dressing.
Minaj’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, denied the allegations, stating they are “completely false and frivolous.” However, Garrett claims Minaj verbally and physically assaulted him, striking him across the face and wrist. He further alleges he was intimidated and left without transportation back to his base in Chicago.
Garrett’s lawyer, Tom Feher, emphasized that Minaj’s celebrity status does not excuse her alleged behavior. He stated, “Mr. Garrett was simply fulfilling his duties, and when Ms. Minaj believed his performance fell short, she resorted to physical violence and threatened his life.”
The lawsuit seeks a jury trial.
